This includes testing color vision, eye alignment, depth perception, peripheral vision and blood pressure. An auto-refractor determines an estimated prescription before you see the eye doctor in the exam room. Eye pressures are taken with a tonometer to check the intraocular pressure (fluid pressure inside the eye) which can be a contributing factor in glaucoma. Retinal photos are taken which allow the doctor to document the your internal eye health and may eliminate the need for dilation.
